Out in Dumfries & Galloway's beautiful countryside for a gig at
Dundrennan Village Hall to help raise funds for hall improvements. It was a
super evening with a really appreciative audience. Emma Forman opened and was in
fine voice. All 18 of our songs got an airing. Interestingly, one song was
interrupted when power to the mixer was lost (we won't say who pulled the plug
out). Everyone went home happy at
the end of the night. Initial figures suggest something approaching £300 was
raised. Very many thanks to the committee and helpers for organisation and
refreshments, and a special thanks to Marion for working so hard to make the
show a success. We'll be happy to go back any time!

Dreadful weather, floods and high winds kept the attendance down at
this free show at Crocketford. But it was a very enjoyable night. Emma
Forman opened, much enjoyed by everyone. Our soundcheck had been a bit
fraught because of sound bouncing off walls and the roof but Hayley did a
great mixing job and our hour-and-a-half went really well. Our thanks to
an appreciative, generous audience, Val, Marsh and Elizabeth for
refreshments, Emma for guesting so ably, and to Anne and the hall comittee
for not accepting anything towards opening the hall for the night. And
£187.45 raised for CLIC Sargent, the childrens' cancer charity.

The Old Well Theatre, Moffat and a charity show in aid of Bankfoot Care
Home. Special guest singer-songwriter Dave Gibb opened with great music, great
guitar-playing and a dry humour which went down really well with the intimate
audience. We really enjoyed ourselves, a pleasure to play such a lovely venue
with great acoustics and an appreciative audience. £140 raised with £120 going
to Bankfoot, the remainder to the theatre charity. Special thanks to all the theatre staff, especially Janette Richardson,
for all their hard work in promoting and organising the show.

" The Isle of Whithorn was privileged to enjoy a superb concert
by the band Nievus recently. An enthusiastic performance, of their own
compositions, it was enjoyed by a diverse audience across the ages.
Skilled musicians, they rattled through their impressive set in a way which
suggested they were having even more fun than the audience. I can
heartily recommend a Nievus concert, and we will certainly be inviting them back
in the future."

Lovely venue with house lights and Mr
Kenny Barr expertly twiddling the faders. Really appreciative audience and the
sound was good too. So all eighteen numbers got an airing, about an hour and a
half's worth. Various dignitaries and film crew in attendance for a special
signing ceremony handing ownership of the hall to the local community. And this
must be the best view from a village hall in Scotland!
