The Band
Nievus was formed in 2007 by Doug Stephens (guitar & vocals) and Peter
Charlton (keyboards & vocals) with the vague idea of putting a band together
to feature some of their own songs. After sorting out arrangements and further
material, and a couple of personnel changes, two additional band members have
been added - Cheryl Charles (Muriel) on keyboards and backing vocals, and
Charlie Johnston on drums. All the music is melodic and original and, we are
told, very accessible, with some songs benefiting from the input of
Glasgow-based award-winning lyricist Peter Farrell. There are now eighteen
numbers fully rehearsed and in the live set and the band is now playing regular
gigs across Dumfries and Galloway.
Rehearsals are held every so
often between gigs on
Saturdays. We are always happy to hear from other
musicians and writers who may wish to join us / contribute.

Appearance fees are waived if your event raises funds for a charity or a good
cause.
